Nomination for Hairdresser of the year

Lisa Shepherd was nominated for British Hairdresser of the Year at the British Hairdressing Awards.

Lisa and seven other candidates were nominated by the cream of the British hairdressing industry, and Lisa is a passed winner of this award winning in 2005.

Lisa currently has three salons with a new one opening in London later this year.

The winner will be announced at a star studded awards ceremony and dinner at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London on November 23.

Hairdressers come in second place in new study

According to a recent survey of 25,000 people carried out by the Institute of Customer Service, Plumbers came in first with the highest customer service scoring 87.5% followed close behind by Hairdressers at 86.1%

The survey looks at key factors such as professionalism, quality of service, easy of doing business and problem solving. The other major factor was time keeping for appointments.

The chief executive of the Institute said "It is those who take customer service seriously that are reaping the rewards and will continue to do so beyond the current economic gloom".

Consumers turn to the Internet to find best hairdressing deals

In the current economic conditions more and more people are using the internet to find the best deal on hair products and services. According to figures sourced from google (tm) UK there were around 7000 searches for hairdressers Cardiff and hairdresser Cardiff in June 09. Take up of the internet by the hairdressing industry has been slow, but many are now looking to venture online.

Virtual hairdresser game launched for Nintendo Dsi

If you have ever thought of becoming a hairdressers or running a hairdressing empire then the new game for the Nintendo Dsi may be for you. The game called ‘Hair Salon’ will allow you to become a virtual hairdresser and cut hair on screen.
You can also upload your own photos so that the model become you or your friends when you cut their hair onscreen.

The game is not just about cutting hair, and you need to keep your customers happy to increase your balance sheet to grow your Hairdressing Empire and rise to the top in the hairdressing world.
